For me, the quintessential World War Z is the audio book version. Absolutely captivating. I think it might be slightly abridged, but I took way more from it than the book, and (though I hate to pre-judge) I'm sure it will have been better than the movie.

Easily my favorite of Gilliam's in tone. There's some draggy bits - the stuff on the moon doesn't do much for me, but the whole package resonates well.

Terrific movie. The pacing is so good, the plot is tight, the characters are well-motivated. I can say only good things - I loved it when I finally caught it on DVD.

I absolutely loved Sky Captain, but it is such a love letter and so specific to the pulpy sci-fi era that I can easily understand most people ignoring it or disliking it. It was a massive success visually and thematically, but it wasn't very accessible unless you were fairly familiar with the era, or (I would argue)

This is my favorite movie. I didn't even see it until 2003 or something like that on a Cartoon Network 24 hour marathon. I tear up every time.

My thought exactly. A lot of plant life not just underwater but floating on the water.

Does the slideshow assume no house rules? I have never played with ANYONE who doesn't have some weird house rule, from the classic Free Parking Windfall to the bs go around the board before you can buy.

Your first point is right on with my thoughts. I love that she just knows who he is right away and we won't have to deal with any of that nonsense.

The imagery in Man of Steel is way less than the 78 movie. Holy cow, with all the "I have sent them you, my only son" stuff?

Oh, that picture of Douglas Adams made me really sad...

I would die of awesomeness if Judy Dench was somehow cast as the Doctor.

When can I buy stock in this company?

People call me sarcastic all the time, but I'm really just blunt as hell.

NO THE CAMEL IS IN THE PERIPHERY AS AN OBSERVATION ON THE EGYPT VAMPIRE ISSUE AND MY ARTISTRY CANNOT BE COMPROMISED BY ZEROES!

Looks like it's time to pitch my book, Starlight. It's about these vampires, right, but in SpaaaCe! and they always are exposed to radiation from stars, so they have to wear sunscreen, and they glitter-shine when hit with starlight, and there's also a human love interest who the space-vampires can't figure out. Her

I enjoy the pacing - I don't even find it slow by today's standards. None of that time is wasted, everything sets up an event later on or gives you insight to a character.

Kevin Costner has always been a good actor. It's his directing that's iffy.

John Hurt: Who is he? Is he the pre-Doctor? Post 11? Hidden regeneration? WHO KNOW?!

Yes, though we are using an online print service called unit prints for our latest batch of photos. Mainly just for the wall and wallets, but not everyone is on Facebook for sharing yet.

Don't really know what to say other than this whole topic makes me sick. As in, I can't believe doctors are still doing this. I would understand if it had been something done in the past and then everyone realized "Wait, that's a bad idea" but in 2013? We're still doing this? These poor fucking kids.
