Killing someone is not always a crime. It depends on the situation, and in this situation it would be considered self-defence (if this were to happen in the real world).
Completely agree with this. No one would ever get charged with manslaughter for pushing a guy away who is mercilessly kicking a woman in the head - it's self defence.
