Paul Newman. Idris Elba. Norm MacDonald. Zava. Who else would we add to that list of guys that even “no homo” straight jock bros would unironically joke about finding hot and bangable? No, really, I’m dying to know.

I wonder how it would taste with Coke Zero.

Of course the name “Boorman” is also related to someone in the real world. Who had his own piece of 1980's fantasy filmmaking.

I just finished the first season of Pachinko and I’m shocked there wasn’t any nominations for it. Everything associated with the show is top notch; writing, acting, directing. Maybe there’s too many weebs at the HFPA?

This is the show for people who think that The Great British Baking Show is too cutthroat.

This is going to be a big hit, if for no other reason than the fact that weed is legal in a lot more states than it was when the first movie came out.

Can we get a special shout-out to Val Lewton? The guy produced nine of the best horror movies ever made and gave directorial debuts to Jacques Tourneur & Robert Wise.

He should’ve done Hill House from The Haunting (1963), A classic of gothic horror design. BTW you can now stay at Ettington Park, the house that exteriors of the movie were filmed.

Not having Saloum on this list is a major omission. It’s one of the best movies of the year, regardless of genre.

Apparently the crawdads sang to the D.A.

Alexa, please read “Delta of Venus” in the voice of my departed wife, Eva Green...

Isn’t the oboe the ill woodwind that nobody blows good?

The beauty of the Aeropress is that it’s basically self-cleaning. Very handy in the morning.

If you’re looking for the old-school original Japanese Iron Chef, they’re on the Peacock network’s free tier. The only sadness is that they lack that Hans Zimmer Backdraft score as theme music. I guess the rights for that expired.

One of the most important things to look for when buying third-party power accessories for Apple products is the MFI logo. It will at least guarantee that the chargers and cables won’t blow up your device.

What about Monty Python and the Holy Grail?

I guess I’ll be the lone voice in the wilderness beating the drum for “Ghosts” on HBOMax (Not the CBS remake). A very funny and very sweet brit-com made by the same crew who made “Horrible Histories”.

You could probably do a series of articles about the Val Lewton RKO “horror movies”. A Murders’ Row of stylish, low budget (but not cheap looking) movies helmed by great directors.
