I can tell you haven’t worked in a service industry in an area where there’s a lot of tourism. It’s not necessarily more tourism = more money = more good. There’s thresholds. At a certain point, the chaos of such business causes more harm than good. Employees become dissatisfied and move on elsewhere, which then…
That’s actually better. Tourists flooding hotels and Airbnbs are a big reason why locals are being pushed out of their homes and are priced out of buying one. Backpacking and staying at hostels doesn’t mean they’re not buying entry to museums or historical sites, eating at local restaurants, buying souvenirs, etc.
Tourists bring a lot of money, yes. But Cruise people? They arent there for the hotels or the restaurants. They are there to jam the city streets and to take pictures and mess up the joint.
The tourists coming from Cruise are not the tourists you want. They dont stay at hotels, dont stay overnight for dinner and if you have been in Santorini, you will know they are shuttled in buses to the upper part of the island. These are not good for the locals. You want tourists that stay overnight and these are not…
I get what the advisory was intended for. It wasn’t saving Santorini for the tourists. It was saving Santorini residents *from* the tourists. Like warning people to stay indoors because there’s a hailstorm predicted.
If your use allows for an EV, I’d rather have this for a lot less.
Everyone should take a few seconds and google LASD gangs.
Korea, but whatever.
I really like these, and there is a great new blue color for 2025.
But I don’t like the idea of a 3-cyl turbo engine with a wet timing belt built by GM. If I was a serial leasee or somebody who bought/sold ever few years I wouldn’t care. If this was a decent NA 4-cyl or hybrid that had a known track record I’d consider…
The aviation industry is so safe because its literally had its changes paved with blood, and lots of it through the decades.
“how there’s the FAA regulating what goes into passenger jets so they’re built well for near worry-free traveling so we don’t have to be engineering experts.”
Ironically, the answer to your last sentence is in your first sentence!

Slow news day?
There is an entire Facebook group dedicated to RVs with headlights/taillights from different automobiles.
This angers me to no end. It’s an invasion of privacy. Also, my real beef is this: What constitutes a hard acceleration or hard braking? Would the insurance company rather I didn’t use the braking capabilites designed into my car and simply smash into another vehical?
This is one of my favorite road trip games, identifying the original source of headlights and tail lights for medium and heavy duty chassis vehicles.
Elon seems to be realizing he poisoned the EV well by declaring everyone not associated with the non-far-right his personal enemies. tesla stock is continuing to dive, he’s losing many long-term, high-ranking engineers, he’s laying off manufacturing employees, he’s not beholden to the Chinese government (who have…
There’s blood on your hands, Elmo.
