Man, all I needed was “I don’t have to go to costco every week to get gas anymore” and “I can charge my car for free at my workplace”

Yes, but...no. It’s the 2020s and automotive engineering is taught in college and grad school, there’s nothing that’s hidden anymore. And Tesla, just like every other auto manufacturer, is free to purchase their competitor’s vehicles and reverse engineer everything they need for their vehicle.

Sure - but that’s why a reasonable, responsible, company will take measured steps and not market their CyberTruck as the ultimate do anything, go anywhere, conquer everything uber-vehicle. Hell - based on the ranges people are getting, their half-cooked release isn’t even good at the very thing Tesla is expected to

Tesla has always given me a strong vibe of “this car is not truly complete.” I had some seat time in a 2023 model and for one, the freaking cruise control wouldn’t work without a software update. The screen was nice and big but the position was terrible and the interface looked no better than a 2nd rate smartphone.

This is silly. You could make an argument that everything on the planet is killing the environment. The idea is to harm it less and over time as little as possible. Basically what you are saying is, “All Cars Are Bad”. We know that Trains are much better for the environment.

You can absolutely hang your hat on the fact that whatever comes on the car new will wear far faster than whatever you replace them with.  No dealer wants to jack price by $500 to cover better tires.

OEM tires can be such a crap shoot. They don’t always pick the best tire, but sometimes a tire that meets a need. Similar situation with Toyota and the Tacoma TRD pro. They put junk all-seasons on it from the factory since A/T or more aggressive tires would ding MPG’s. You could always get dealer installed tires to

I just checked the wear bars on my Model 3 yesterday. I am about due... after 51000 miles.

“Social Media Influencer” is a viable career in the same way Professional Football Player, musician or actor is a viable career. They are all long shots and the vast majority of people who attempt to have these “viable careers” end up elsewhere. I don’t say this to dissuade people. Go for it if it is your passion, you

Swell. He’s still creating content for one of the worst human beings currently alive and getting richer in the process, so he can honestly eat shit and die for all I care.

My partner is one of the smartest and most successful people I know and I am baffled by how much she loves tiktok. Every night while we are winding down before bedtime, she watches tiktok and youtube videos and 90% of these people giving “advice” are either complete morons who have no idea what they are talking about

The best part about cruise ships is that it gets the people who would actually go on a cruise ship away from the rest of us.

That data isn’t available yet. The ship will be reviewed for its first year of operation, which doesn’t start for another four days.

Simply whipping out a debit or credit card to charge your car is another problem that’s not being addressed, mostly because you can’t just simply do that.

Gas stations are tied to a mini-mart because they don’t actually profit on gas. They normally have about a 3 cent mark-up per gallon, which doesn’t even cover the cost of keeping the lights on.

Good to know.  I’ve heard that police agencies liked their Dodge Chargers.  What is your view on them and how they compared to the Crown Vic?

Remember when this happened along the whole eastern seaboard with the Colonial Pipeline hack? That was only a couple years ago.

Those Teslas weren’t actually dead. They were just lined up waiting for their turn for a reduced number of supercharger spots because the cold knocked out some of the chargers, not the cars themselves.
