Yes, clearly this bronco is not meant for you. Not for me either, to be clear, since I’m not spending 73-83K on any motor vehicle unless I hit the powerball jackpot. I’d rather put that kind of cash in real estate or investments.

Nope, the service advisor just said “transmission internal failure was found” and that they were replacing the transmission assembly under goodwill.
According to the owner, the car was fine all the way down from san francisco to LA, cruising at 75 on cruise control, got off the freeway in LA and started sputtering and…
A misleading headline, as the trains have not been built yet.
But I guess “Spain specs their new trains wrong, resulting in delays” isn’t clickbait-y enough nowadays
If you look at the economy car segment, in many cases the cost to buy the new car (size for size, power for power, typically equipped) hasn’t gone up for the last 30 years when you adjust for inflation, and they require a lot less maintenance, less frequently as well.
Compare a 2023 base Kia Soul to a midlevel…
I couldn’t imagine paying MSRP for half these cars. Over MSRP? Not a chance in hell, particularly for the Kia/Hyundais and Fords.
Just took a ride in my friend’s very nice, well kept ‘17 Outback 6 cyl/CVT - trans failed and dealer replaced the entire trans for free/goodwill 2 months ago @ 62k miles (it was out of the factory 5/60 powertrain warranty).
2007 was 16 years ago. Things change.
And beyond that, plenty of Philadelphia in ‘07 was fine and as clean or cleaner than other US cities of similar size. Rittenhouse square, old city, society hill, West Philly around university city, chestnut hill, fitler square, more.
Uh, what?
$12k new cars - of any fuel - haven’t existed in the US for quite a few years now. I’d like to flap my arms and fly, too.
Good. As someone who sat in nasty stinking diesel truck and bus tunnel traffic in north jersey for some years, better air quality from less dirty vehicles is a big plus. And though my NJ shore house thankfully wasn’t affected much by Sandy, many communities around me were devastated and are still recovering. I’m glad…
As long as oil companies rake in billions in profit every year, they’ll keep on keeping on. And the average age of the US fleet is 12 years+, so the millions and millions of cars and trucks sold between now and 2035 will still need to be fueled for well beyond a decade after that, so gas will still be available,…
“Poorer neighborhoods” don’t buy a lot of new cars, so the EV mandate won’t affect them much for years after it’s passed. And in an era when the average new car transaction price is over $48,000 the Chevy Bolt and Nissan Leaf are very affordable at $26k and $28k respectively, before any incentives or tax credits.
Nah, you would imagine wrong - these were the years before the big encampment removals, when they were in full swing.
And I don’t know where you were in Philly, but like a lot of places, the amount of litter varies by neighborhood. Judging by the value of the cars in the neighborhood is a bad metric, because lots of…
SF resident here. As with any city, it depends on which neighborhood you’re in - the Tenderloin is skid row and always has been, and the area around Civic Center is pretty sketchy too. But lots of other neighborhoods are fine, and I feel far safer living in SF than I did at several different locations in Oakland,…
People didn’t buy them, and for retail buyers the upcharge wasn’t worth the sizeable increase in city mileage.
Yeah, I’ve read these new gen wheels are very robust. The main issue is replacement cost, since they’re an $8500 option when ordered new so with typical parts markups I’d guess replacements are somewhere north of $5k each if you do manage to break one.
(also, some corrections - a company rep says explosive…
The CF wheels I’ve seen doing damage estimates from accidents or potholes have cracked, shattered or torn. They don’t dent like a metal rim and they’re not repairable for anything more than surface finish damage.
You, too can make hitting a pothole cost more than this month’s mortgage payment!
The B2000/B2200 was a Mazda truck with a Mazda engine, the B2300 was the (completely different) rebadged Ford Ranger, with the Ford engine.
TourX is indeed the answer here. I bought one new in 2018 for $28k, and it’s been pretty great. Comfortable, quiet, decent mileage, handles and stops well and it’s quick enough to be interesting, especially with a trifecta tune (which also tightens up the transmission shifting, a welcome addition).
I’m 6' tall and I…
Considerably too expensive even before the salvage title kiss of death.
