If the trailers were closer (they’re stored 4 hours away) and the racecar hauler wasn’t being used for storage for the last ~8 years that tool would be worth it. I sold my shop over a decade ago and the tire machine and digital wheel balancer along with it. Now Costco does all my tires and I’m ok with that, because

They’re obscuring the reveal because it’s ugly as fuck

^^^ this. Also, you’re (hopefully) not going to catch bedbugs in your own camper, sleeping on the comfortable upgrade mattress you chose yourself, etc. - and compared to a tent, you’re a lot more comfortable on said mattress instead of ending up on the cold ground before dawn because your air mattress leaked. BTDT.

FWIW, back in 2010 I looked at at least two dozen used camper trailers before buying a well kept, decently equipped 9 year old 23' trailer for $4k. And in 2021, my now 20 year old trailer (which is still well kept, with everything functional and no leaks) is possibly worth more than I paid for it back then. Storage

Looks like it’s gonna be an interesting story, keep us posted

Driver, passenger, cargo and tongue weight all count against allowed payload. So with a 1500 lb payload rating and the 10% tongue weight of a 9900 lb trailer, that leaves you with 510 lbs for the weight of the driver plus everything else in the truck.

In Australia at least, the over 1 ton payload ratings on smaller pickups are cooked up to avoid classification as a passenger vehicle and resulting high government taxation (FBT). US payload ratings tend to be more conservative; my Dodge pickup is rated to carry about 1800 lbs payload and I’ve routinely done 2300lbs

Mercedes - from the pic, that plastic handle fire extinguisher may be included in the massive Kidde extinguisher recall that covers hundreds of thousands of defective fire extinguishers made by them over the last 40 years. i’ve returned nearly 30 of those so far, it’s worth checking out. Defective ones don’t work when

Also note that the cars getting replacement battery packs will get 21 miles of increased range as well. 259 miles vs 238 miles from the original battery.

The Marauder got the wrong motor for a heavy full size body on frame sedan. NA DOHC and revs made it sluggish and slow off the line, exactly the opposite of what buyers wanted in a muscle sedan - a then-brand new 2004 Marauder would get beat by a then- ten year old, bone stock 1994 Impala SS even though the Marauder

Nah. When I had a commute it was 12 miles each way, my Bolt does 220 miles to a charge, and it fully charges at home in 6 hours. 220 miles costs me $6 in electricity, vs $38 for the same miles of Costco regular gas in our ‘18 wagon which does the same 6.3 second 0-60. It’s also the most relaxing, easy car to drive in

Oil filters remove dirt but they do nothing for oil acidity, thermal breakdown, viscosity shearing, oil additive packages being depleted, and so forth. Without lab testing the used oil before and after all this filtration and comparing results, this whole thing is meaningless.

My 1955 Cadillac 4 door sedan is 18' long and 80" wide too. The Fleetwood sedan is even longer. This is hardly a new thing.

Hi - ex dealer service manger here. That is true, except for warranty and recall repairs, and parts where cores must be returned for rebuild/repair/manufacturer inspection. Every dealership shop I’ve run, recall parts had to be destroyed on video or returned to the manufacturer, and warranty parts must be inventoried

Thank you. :)
I think it’s important to give credit where its’ due, etc

Which 1996 Honda motorcycle makes 121 hp and over 93 ft-lbs of torque, exactly?

Side note for you:
Harleys aren’t my thing, but I can tell you that in my experience as a service manger for other brands in NYC, L.A. and the SF East bay area that my customers with Harleys as well as my service employees who were previously at Harley dealers (as both service writers and mechanics) have confirmed

If you’ve read a bunch of OEM TSBs you would know that manufacturers do that type of cheap fix all the time.

Most cars are absolutely designed to be repaired, in varying degrees. Crashed, too. And maintained.
Some are better than others about this but believe me, as a mechanic I’ve seen and worked on the cars that placed a higher priority on ease of maintenance, repairs and crash repairs. Thats a big reason why I don’t own a
