Exactly. If you’re in a state that has safety or emissions inspections, this is just 100% a hard pass. In other states, people may drive thousands of miles with a CEL if it’s not keeping the car from driving down the road.

I’m the opposite - I drive older cars partially BECAUSE there is no screen. I hate how distracting they are and become a focal point of the interior. I know I’m in the minority on this but I am completely fine with using a cassette adepter and plugging it into my phone.
