Probably either no room for radiators or just wanted to keep it air cooled without buying an actual Porsche motor.  Replacing VW air cooled motors with Corvair motors or parts was definitely a thing back in the day.

Yeah, I read this in the same room as an old clock my grandparents had was (still is) just ticking right away. It’s the loudest wall clock I’ve ever heard; you can hear it in other rooms.
I honestly don’t feel tortured at all. I think people are just desperate for drama.

The kickstarter is definitely poorly worded and could very well be snakeoil, but the people raising a stick about it and claim it’s a “torture device” smack of those that think there’s a child sex dungeon under a pizza restaurant and were in a panic claiming that kidnapped kids were being listed as overpriced filing Read more

I’m absolutely flabbergasted by the people comparing this to water torture. I went to school in rooms that had particularly loud clocks—was I tortured? Am I tortured by the fridge or the cat water fixture that I can hear from where I’m sitting? Read more

?? I have at least 350 hours into Witcher 3 on PC and Xbox One, and I’ve never seen anything like what you describe. In fact, I rarely experience any bugs of any kind.

I work in cyber security. After a major breach you can easily lose weeks or months of productivity. People have to spend time figuring out how the breach happened and even more time doing health checking and patching to ensure assets are as secure as possible. I was excited about it and even pre-ordered it. When they delayed the release, I canceled my pre-order. Now, I’ll do like I did with The Witcher 3, wait until there is a GoTY edition of it and it’s on sale.

I know several people who had strong feelings about desired gender and did some grieving. One of them was way too public about it. She’s a great mother, but someday someone is going to say something to her kid. It will slip out. I feel like if people find out in the delivery room, the presence of that actual baby Read more

I’m honestly perplexed how you were so excited you bought a videocard, but, somehow, the streams show it to be something you have no interest in. While the AI is not good, in a number of ways, some small features (like wall running) were cut, and there are some bugs, the game on PC is almost exactly what they Read more

He was in the area for the Genesis Invitational, serving as a celebrity host rather than playing; it’s a PGA event. This was a sponsor loaner. In some photos you can clearly see the big Genesis logo on the passenger door.

And the fender bender was the direct result of domestic violence being committed against him. Imagine the genders reversed and a man chasing his wife outside with a golf club smashing out the windows in her car as she tried to escape causing her to crash and injure herself.

Still find the whole narrative around Tiger a weird indication of how whack and puritan our society is becoming. That whole documentary was like, ‘Tiger, the sad tragic story, his great demise.’ I mean – he’s only the greatest golfer possibly in the history of the sport, an unbelievable success story (and in the face Read more
