I think they’re ridiculous and over-designed, which makes them match the car perfectly.

I had a MGB as my only transportation for several years. The only time it let me down was when the driver shaft disconnected at the rear on I-35 just south of Dallas.

My wife had an 04 Alero with that motor when we got married. She kept it for a couple more years and I had to fix ignition issues at least 3 times, replace the water pump and alternator, and replace gaskets. It had 80k miles when we sold it.
