I used to hear rumors regarding how good the weed is down in Brazil. It’s better than I thought.
Honestly I’d probably rather have one of these, at least they aren’t trying to pretend they’re something other than a VW. Most still sport the VW badge on the front.
Not really and at least the Brazilian ones were true rear engined air cooled beetles.
I admit that some of these are good. Some are quite interesting. Some, “burn it!”.

And a heater/AC, seats with back support, cargo space, safety belts and airbags, decent entertainment system, and stability. Cars superior, motorcycles inferior.
Ignore the comments about VAG reliability* in the US. I have learned that up there the definition of reliability is remembering to change the oil once a decade and have nothing go wrong. Anything less than that is too troublesome and should be sent to the junkyard.
My 2001 V6 Passat wagon was bought 16 years ago to bring my son home after being born. 223000 miles with normal maintenance. One caveat... window guides busted on the front windows and had to be replaced years ago.
I’m close to 40k/yr in my Jetta wagon w/ >170k. Haven’t had to do fix/replace jack on it. Its been incredibly reliable to date. Though I think the alternator (battery light turning on/off at highway speed) is starting to act up.
I bought a brand new 1987 VW Fox sedan. I can confirm it was excellent. Overall, the best car I have ever owned. I had it for 11.5 years and 193K miles. It was totalled when t-boned by a distracted driver.
