Replacing a fuel pump on a 1980 Honda Civic on my driveway at -35C (purely academic -31F). Gasoline feels like -100C at that point. Lived out of town, had one car, and couldn’t afford to pay someone to do it. My hands hurt when I think about it.

My brother and I bought our father’s ‘91 very low mileage unit about 9 years ago. Both used it, both thought it was too slow, and too hard on fuel. We’ve owned our fair share of Volkswagens, and oddly have a love/mostly hate relationship with them, but this one’s drive train was the most despicable piece of crap ever.
