A company built on raiding the public domain is making it nearly impossible for new works to enter the public domain.

I genuinely do not want them to own Fox

that’s Lenin

Happy birthday Walt, thanks for everything

Does all the good that has spawned from Disney [...] outweigh the personal flaws?

And yet, there’s something about space that seems to attract a lot of assholes.

If I remember correctly George W. Bush later on used the surplus to give everyone a one time small tax credit

It’s just another day in the White House.

1977. The second weekend it was playing in Denver. The Cooper Cameo, on Colorado Blvd., when I was 13, with just my younger brother (11), in the third or fourth row of the balcony. If I kiss a woman who’s made it clear she’s not interested in me it is predatory behavior.

You’re right, flirting isn’t a crime. Technically, putting your hand on the knee of a female coworker or inviting her over to your house and answering the door naked isn’t a crime either.

And what I’m saying is a man doesn’t have to be rich or famous or in authority to behave badly towards women.

it is all about power.

Or the married guy who keeps aggressively hitting on women in the office even when it’s blatantly obvious they’re not interested.

I’ve seen my share of female bosses making comment or gesture that, if gender-flipped, would be clear harassment.

As soon as we become numb to this, it becomes the de facto accepted behavior for men.
