I guess what I am saying is I just have a completely different reading on the words in the article above than you had.

I think they’re likely just saying nice things about someone they know and like to cheer them up / change the narrative a bit while addressing the issue then insinuating that racism is OK if an actor is bad.

Ted Lasso is not about football.

I liked Ted Lasso okay, wouldn’t necessarily call myself a fan, but I have to say I think maybe part of the issue is with you if you’re under the impression that Ted Lasso is even remotely attempting be an accurate representation of professional football?

Here’s where I plug The Wrong Guy to fans of Dave Foley everywhere. It’s my go-to movie that nobody heard of that’s just joke-after-joke stupid-hilarious. Kevin has a brief appearance as well.

“Bill?”

I said why, so that people could feel superior to other people, especially on the internet. First it was bi, then as we saw a rise in the recognition of trans and NB folks, a few people were like “Well bi means TWO and I think there’s more than two so I’m not bi I’m pan.” But the vast majority of bi people you ever

It would be unfair of me to assume you were on the phone or washing dishes or something while you watched the show, but I’m gonna make that assumption anyway.

You know who else has hands? The Devil! And he uses ‘em for HOLDING!

Get outta here Elvis! You don’t want no part in this shit!

They are.  All the definitions that try to make pan bi+ are basically just queer kids fighting on tumblr.  Bi is just an older term for the same thing.  As a bi guy nothing grosses me out more than people saying “Well I’M pan which means unlike you I’ll date a trans person” and I have to be like “You tacky bitch I

i fucking LOOOVE a hilarious scathing review of something. slipping in that ‘true true’ is an absolute masterstroke, some real center-of-the-bullseye trained assassin hitman shit. the ones who get it will get it

Aye. It’s aged really well.

First of all, Loki’s “coming out” scene was not a coming out scene. The character is canonically several thousand years old and has made peace with his sexuality years ago - if he ever had any issue with it, which there is no evidence of. Why is this important? Well, a coming out is a big deal, while just mentioning

DC’s TV and movies being run like a high school homeroom with a substitute teacher produces generally awful movies but does allow for good stuff to happen as well.

Having LGBTQ characters where their sexuality isn’t treated a huge deal that dominates a story is itself progress.  And I do think it’s helpful when it comes to empowering people. The audience for Queer As Folk probably doesn’t need any convincing about the equality and humanity of gay people, but Marvel shows appeal

I can’t explain Marvel Comics, but for the MCU at least, the squeamishness is built into the Disney corporate culture. And tbh understandably given their vulnerability to Christian ‘famkly-first’ groups, reliance on regressive foreign markets, and entrenched relationship with Florida. The last time Disney directly

You’re not wrong. It’s too bad Warner and DC can’t make a decent movie around the few things they do right.

What an odious comment.

I’ve been arguing for weeks that Howard isn’t that bad and people consistently call him a douchebag for reasons I can’t understand. He’s a little smarmy in his professional life but the way he interacts and treats people outside of work consistently paints the picture of a kind-hearted person.
