Lilo & Stitch is pre-Pixar. It takes place in paradise. Several of its main characters are funny aliens. You don't even get to meet the dead parents… I let my guard down. And then, all of sudden it was like somebody was dicing a bushel of red onions in my living room.

Anyone ever seen "Breaking the Huddle," the HBO doc they show every year about this time that tells the stories of some of the first black players to play football in the SEC? Good Lord. I'm worried I might start crying right now at my desk just thinking about it.

How about Ronda Rousey hosting SNL… I know Serena is busy flooding Australia with White Tears, but come on. We finally get a female athlete host and she's not Serena Williams? That's some racist BS.

There's nothing condescending or presumptuous in recognizing that part of what makes Destroyer's music so great is that Bejar's constantly fucking with us…

Look, I'm as big a Bejar fan as you're going to find, but please, listen to the man's music and follow his direction. Look for the artists not born of wealth (aka, start listening to some non-white music. Kdot is a good place to start). I love Kaputt, but there are better records out there.

Max, I too am a huge Destroyer fan—have been for more than a decade. My first exposure was the "Your Blues" album, which is still brilliant even though no one really talks about it anymore. FWIW, I like all Destroyer albums, but have long thought that Rubies and Streethawk are overrated compared to Trouble in Dreams
