To me, it just leaves a nasty residual taste so that 2-3 minutes after I've swallowed I have the exact same taste in my mouth, whatever I've eaten and it's almost impossible to get rid of it. While eating, this residual taste just grows for each bite so that what may have been delicious to begin with becomes inedible

MSG is the shortest path to making food disgusting, though. Want a full, rich taste? Develop the cooking skills for it and get to know your recipes. Adding MSG doesn't enhance the taste, it just streamlines it, making it, to use the secondary and very unfairly attributed term, more vanilla ;)
