I'm all right with that opinion, though I think the high points of Sandman are higher. I don't think it's derogatory to say it's a spinoff (at least in the comic medium). Constantine is a pretty well-praised spinoff.

I loved Mike Carey's spinoff comic and I somewhat enjoy the show based on those characters and I am supremely happy that the TV/movie rights are owned by different companies.

I don't know, I like color and sound. What if we just did away with the projector and somehow put the actors and sets directly into the theater?

I'd have to disagree. There are some beautiful aspects to comics that don't translate to other mediums, but mostly they equate to storyboards—and are thus filmable to whatever degree a director and company are capable. Video games entertain us with things to do, so a lot of work has to be put in to make the movies

It's possible that the cartoon's debut was my very first case of nerdy purist rage. They added that floating guy and gave Battlecat multiple personality disorder. They must not have referred to any of those Betamax battles I worked so hard on.
