I don’t think it’s about reducing the number of warranty claims by improving the product, I think it’s about *denying* more warranty claims by downloading your car’s data and blaming you for allowing your revs to rise to 6501 rpm, once, four years ago. Instant cost saving!

To be fair a lot of those warranty claims are related to a garbage transmission they put in their mass-market hatchbacks.

Has Ford considered not pissing off customers with terrible transmissions? That would both help sales and cut warranty costs. Outside of the Explorer, most of their newer cars are being brought in for transmission problems.

it was a cartoon version of “tales of the gold monkey” and even Archer Ripped off that one.

“None. Use Uber”.

I would suggest people also watch Shelby American on Netflix. It gives a lot more detail.

Trust me, I thought about it already. However, the real issues with big block swaps in Panteras are the torque thru the ZF transaxle and the length of the engine. The ZF transaxle is very expensive to rebuild and can develop problems somewhere above 500 lb-ft of torque. The length of most big blocks (looks like the

My god, Torch. Just how short are your legs?!

Mr Torchinsky you are a breath of fresh air here. You are clearly passionate about cars and you bring such an interesting perspective. THANK YOU!

The look on your face as soon as you knew it broke free... I have made that face MANY times.

Torch, this is an awesome vid and some pretty interesting history for someone who isn’t exactly a porschephile (me). I’d kill to see/read a realllly long form version of all of this that breaks down the 356/901/959, everything in between (and after) and how the 959 tech was carried forward in subsequent gens while

It’s not. You’ll hit the wipers instead of the indicator once, and your 2-3 and 3-2 shifts will take an extra half-second, but after five minutes, you’re good.

Define ‘fun’.

Engine tuned somewhere between the GTI and Golf R plus AWD and a good warranty. I’m not seeing any faults unless they really want the luxury badge.

Neutral: Neither.

Wait, the C8.R is out racing before anyone is even owning a production shipped C8?

How did the switch that sensed your hand on the shifter work? I assume it was pretty similar to the gesture controls that BMW uses today.

I’ve got 130ish hp to the wheels for 5500 lbs of brick I use on 80 mph freeways a lot so I don’t want to hear about superhuman feats of surviving low hp...what I’m saying is that North American people expect a certain level of speed and power that are very much at odds with Japanese expectations.

If I can easily handle 85 mph speeds through the Appalachians in my 55hp flatbed I think the American people can handle a hatchback making 178hp.

Might be a tad older 2013 ish but you can find a nice Ford Flex. Yes some what of a box but with the EcoBoost fairly quick and nimble for its size. And can get mid 20s mpg combined.
