TL;DR

I think the better question is:  how much should you spend on a car?  In the middle of a global health emergency, maybe don’t buy a new car?  And defer the purchase for a while.  And just maintain what you have.  I mean this is Jalopnik.

Some people are dirty.  My office is in a fancy building and I have coworkers who didn’t wash this hands after using the bathroom.

In defense of the coolant, I think most people didn’t read and follow the directions.  Do not mix with non-dexcool, if you do then it reduced the life.  I had several engines with it during the era and I never had a problem.
