I haul fuel for a local chain. In the industry, diesel is often referred to as “oil”, or “fuel oil”. Ethanol is simply known as “booze” 😄. Gas is either “RFG”(reformulated gasoline) or “conventional”, depending on its composition (dictated by location and EPA regulation).

Actually, short haul trucking is more lucrative than you might think. I worked over the road for many years, then switched to local work. I work less hours, and earn significantly more now. The long haul companies like to perpetuate that myth to prevent an even larger bleed off of drivers than they already endure.
