funny, I stayed at a friend's house in Italy once and there was a dirty rag tied around the handle of the fridge. I thought it looked ugly so I removed it then opened the fridge. Or should I say got stuck to the fridge by the 220v passing through the handle.. Needless to say, I made them buy a new fridge. but they had

Hmm, those look to me like 12v Low voltage spots.. Barely anything at all! I can only assume that it gave him a buzz coz it was close to the brain!

Hell, it's really tough seeing Steve Jobs looking so thin.. He doesn't look well at all. All hail to the man for standing up and presenting. I hope that he is OK and recovering...

Seems kind of unnecessary building a tunnel per se here. An open steel lattice work structure would have been much more attractive and would not have created such a problem in case of accidents etc.. probably would have cost more though. On the other hand if standardised it would rapidly become cheaper...

AND... Still waiting for a way to lock the mail app, so that I can lend my iPhone or iPad to people without them having access to my mail, or indeed lend it to kids to play games without fear that they will erase data!

Just found a friends Sony camera on a table in the garden after a few days of rain. It was soaked through. I took out the battery and memory card.. shook it thoroughly, popped it in the oven on low heat for 20 mins, shook it again, blow dried it, left it for five days in a warm room and it works perfectly. Not even

Scum - that's all I have to say!

true photographer though. He reached for his camera before anything.. cool as a cucumber (not a dodgy German one!)

Wow, One HUNDRED! Way to go Tosh! give out ten thousand and we might just be impressed!

Yesterday I bought a bunch of LED replacements for my halogen GU10 bulbs.. Obviously not as bright, but they are remarkably good, (using four super bright LEDs) and the colour temperature is close to tungsten... Not cheap here in France at €7.95 each, but well worth it!

'starting to roll out' is a little off the mark.. They have been in use in the tiny little town near me in SW France for over a year! So I imagine that they are common as anything in say Paris!

yeah, weird one that.. In my many years of mac ownership I have had to restart maybe fifteen times because of spinning wheels of death.. not bad!

I LIKE being distracted, I LIKE going off at tangents in conversation, I LIKE... now what was I talking about!?

Now I can see 3D when it's done well (such as in the Simpsons 4th dimension cartoon (which came out YEARS ago)) but when it's done badly it (as in the dreadful Alice in Chunderland) it just makes me feel queasy.. What do you call that? Discerning eye? ;-)

So what they are saying is that anybody can walk into a Best Buy, walk out with a computer without paying for it, and then we just hope that the cops are near enough to arrest them.. Hell, that is crazy!

On the other hand Shazam is absolutely useless for classical music

But we see sights like this by the roadside all the time here in France!

Just what they need.. Leech off us taxpayers AND get their cars super cheap.

amazing the sheep that spread all over the US freeways.. European lane courtesy is far more efficient. Drive slowly if you want but keep to the right. Always astonishes me when I drive in the US!
