I’m more reminded of the Outer Limits episode with the time traveler who goes back and convinces a politician who is starting his presidential run to jump out of a plane without a parachute with the promise to save him mid fall, to prevent him from taking office because his doing so brings about the end of days.

I guess that matter more on the conditions of his death.  If he dies during the filming of a stunt wild and brash, then probably not.  If however he dies because he tripped over a stray boom mic cable and went for a tumble, then yes that will work.

I for one enjoy the absurdity that I can spend hours on end planting, watering, and collecting video game crops to sell and not have the drive to get off the couch and do it for real.
