How can you ferry around Cayden, Brayden and Hayden with only two back seats? Is 4500lbs really becoming the standard for a 4 passenger vehicle? Do we really have to move up to a 17' long vehicle to fit a 3rd child in the back, because 16.25' just isn’t big enough to hold two average American children anymore? Just

How much does she want for the Fit?

The first gen Insight is really a better choice for this.p I’d personally want one with a Clarity drivetrain, you’d probably get 100 miles on battery and 100mpg+ on gasoline, considering it weighs less than half a much and that kind of fuel economy was within reach with the stock engine.

I’ve put a TSX K24 in my 2000 Insight, and rebuilt the car with better seats, a bigger cargo area, sharper handling, and a monstrosity of a highway 6th gear. Fuel economy is not as good as it was stock (I’d have preferred a Clarity drivetrain but good luck with that), but I can still eek out 65mpg if I’m careful, more

I’m not sure the kind of interest others are getting, but I keep $10,000 cash in my checking account at my corner credit union where it earns 3% interest, so long as I use my debit card a few times per month. I funnel the rest of my spending through a high-rewards credit card. I’m not out of student debt or my

Bingo.

Have you ever driven one? This is not a Prius.

Some people actually cut the rear spats. If you google image search you’ll find it.

But that’s not a limitation of the chassis, just of the build.

Right now it’s stock struts and shocks. When my shocks go I’m going to replace them with Gaz shocks, which are adjustable. There are no good bolt-on aftermarket options for the front that I’m aware of. A shop out in California (Scott @ Jue Motors) sells replacement springs for the front and back which have 30%

25mm spacers in the rear, wider tires in the front. Car drove fine with a narrower rear track though.

RSX-S steering wheel, actually. The Insight, Civic Si, S2000 and RSX all share the same basic design and are interchangeable, I swapped the RSX wheel in for the cruise control buttons, Insight never had CC as an option.

I have a short thread on Insight Central, but my main thread is on Ecomodder. I’ve been working on this for close to a year and a half now and there are a lot of meandering thoughts and armchair building in the thread, most of the build is later on.

Yeah I took major inspiration from Mike. There were some new things available when I started mine which did not exist when his was made, but he was a trailblazer and I copied and adapted a lot of his work. I even bought a few things from him for my build!

All for the Emm Pee Gees yo.

Test drive one, they’re surprisingly good even in stock form.

CR-Z is beautiful but it’s also something like 900lbs heavier, and the chassis isn’t as stiff. =/

Not too hard, need custom exhaust, intake, but difficult things like mounts, axles, wiring diagrams have been figured out. Hasport’s mounts and axles are the way to go. Brian Gilespie brought mounts and axles for the Insight to market in large part because of my badgering, and now they’re available for anyone.

I basically just finished it. Just have some burnout videos. Join the K Swapped Insights group on Facebook to see some of what’s going on with these.
