Psssht. Everyone knows Canada’s best city is Montreal. Vancouver is likable only because it’s well located next to natural beauty and easy to get out of. It’s otherwise a fairly modern city that’s largely devoid of interesting architecture.

I understand the need for a wagon. I own a wagon. However, if you want a view and a massive amount of cargo space, don’t get a Mini. I don’t see them making cargo-capable SUV versions of the Miata.
Right on the money AdamVIP, a star for you.
Yeah, weird, it’s almost as if they are building MINIs to suit consumers’ tastes rather than to suit a bunch of guys idealizing a 50-year-old design. Strange. It’s like the want to *sell* them or something.
But if I see that pattern the world will break.
He’s not alone, I have it as well. ‘Allergic’ is probably a bad word for it, but if I breath in cigarette smoke my throat starts to close up and it becomes quite difficult to breath. I have no allergies to anything else (knock on wood).
Yeah we did, but only because of that stupid black plastic panel on the C-piller. And the cheap feel of the vehicle, unpleasant interior, and annoying engine note.
VW did the same thing for the introduction of the current generation of the Passat and Jetta products. Amazingly, only about 5% of reviewers figured out that the cars weren’t actually better value, they were just decontented over the previous generation.
The Touareg exists because no other person I’ve met on earth would claim the current-gen Tiguan has ‘lots of room’.
I’m well aware of what ‘average age’ means, but thanks for the clarification.
I don’t know if I buy that. 11 years puts these cars at the 2005 era, when all but the very basic of basic econobox cars came with ABS. ABS was introduced in the 1970s, and saw widespread adoption in the 90s. Add to this that companies like GM were putting them as standard equipment on their cars all the way through…
Hey, the problem isn’t stopping quickly. If you’re stopping quickly into a brick wall, well, then that’s not helpful.
Yeah, I think he figured that out, given that you’re commenting on this comment about figuring that out.
Yep, disco era is pre my era, so “jive turkey” is a completely new term for me. I actually missed that you had written it completely.
Nice to see my city making an appearance. Plus, Montreal is all about dem hatchbacks.
Right, so you can be a shittier, slower version of what ABS would do anyway.
Thank you. I was confused by this article, remembering that, when it was introduced, it was all about preventing lockup and uncontrolled sideways skids (i.e., it allowed you to continue to steer out of danger). That was the big selling point. Nothing to do with stopping distances.
What Salvage said.
I hear them everyday on cars passing by, but you are right. It’s maybe 1 in 25-50 cars that I hear them on.
Yes, bad! (I’m doing the same as you).
