unless you are a contractor the plywood thing is going to come up maybe once a year. Maybe. The bed is more than 4ft wide and 4 1\2 feet long. Plus the 20 inch tailgate. Where’s that 4 X 8 going, chief ? I swear every time I see that stupid comment about a short\midsize bed I KNOW that commenter has never used a truck

My personal mission and pet peeve.  The Maverick isn't a small truck, it is a mid sized truck, The Ranger is a big truck, and full sized trucks are huge trucks.  If a slightly height advantaged man can't see over the hood of a vehicle (such as full sized American trucks) it is huge.  They don't sell small pick ups in

I am very familiar with Fox values. I am not surprised with the BaT result, I immediately pegged this as a $15-17k car. Pluses: mileage, seat condition is way above average and the interior is very clean. Minuses: that’s not a great respray, fuckery with the smog equipment, not a notchback. No cats doesn’t really

Well put, because if you do read CR religiously you’ll end up buying nothing but Toyotas and Subarus till the end of time, which is fine for some people, but I’d be too bored.

It’s fine for what it is. But Consumer Reports priorities (and the sort of people who subscribe to them) are simply not MY priorities when buying a car. I will cheerfully trade some amount of reliability and cost of ownership for a better driving experience, as long as the car is “reliable enough”. Which they all seem

Not sure why this should be at all surprising. Tesla has it’s rabid fanbase, but the normies who are buying them NOW seem to be a LOT less impressed with them. Especially as now there are legitimate competitors.

Reminds me of an Omaha area guy who you’ve probably heard about. Dad’s money and very little oversight led to fast cars (world record Evo), which eventually led to him killing somebody.

You know what’s even easier than figuring this out? Not having kids in the first place.

i mean best of luck to your kid, but hard disagree. 16-17 year olds have double the rate of accidents than any other age group, have the highest injury rate, and are basically tied with the elderly for highest fatality rate. telling your kid “hey I could protect you more but you need to learn the hard way” is not good

Why you hatin’ on the Shaggin Wagon?

Yup, this. The amount of sheer speed my friend’s Tesla delivers to me is only matched by my personal shock of how little I crave it when I get out. Yet, I can be in his old, track oriented, Audi S4 from the early 00's and absolutely get the charm and want that car.

I’m just into driving as a hobby and a cool car is

I for one can’t wait to get creamed by 7000lb lifted EV trucks.

To each his own but I love the looks of the Panamera Sport Turismo

For the average person, I think EVs are great. This is not taking into account the environmental issues, which is such a confusing landscape with all the factors to look into as far as sustainability that most don’t even think to explore when saying one technology is superior to the other. I digress.

I am a software engineer who worked for a very large car manufacturer for a time. I can tell you that ICE or EV doesn’t matter as far as this goes. While the manufacturer in question wasn’t doing any sort of subscription nonsense yet, the fact is that any vehicle built in the last 5 years was reporting data back to

Yeah you literally cannot get away from giving oil companies money. It just isnt possible. Almost any product you buy short of fruits and vegetables, have some kind of plastic or polymer that is derived from oil. I understand your sentiment. But your EV I bet has 750lbs of crap that sent money to those two countries.

Ding, ding, ding, you nailed it with the “bullshit that surrounds” them, it’s a huge turnoff for me. And while this is not exclusive to EVs, it sure seems endemic to them. I’m 47. Within the next few years I’ll have an ND Miata (or NE) which I hope to Ride or Die into my golden years while technology moves on

  • EVs are more eco-friendly. Even if your electricity is generated 100% by coal/natural gas it’s still better for the environment due to increased efficiency with a larger turbine generating the energy vs a tiny one in an ICE. on top of that because electricity is agnostic you can charge it anywhere without needing to

Manufacturers’ insistence on intentionally making EVs more of a pain in the ass to live with than a typical gas-powered car, even when they should theoretically be easier to live with, is just one of several reasons why I’m not getting one anytime soon. If I were to buy an EV, it would be one that’s completely

Actually, with the way they seem to setup “reality” shows now, this sounds like a new Netflix series.
