Why is it so vogue now to monetarily incintivize cops to do engage in even worse behavior by collectively attacking their retirement? I can’t think of a worse way to reform the police. If you want to see corruption skyrocket this is how you do it.
Indeed, a controlled environment makes all the difference.
With the Mach 1 and Shelby cars, Ford has the Track Attack program which it offered with the ST cars and RS (I think the GT did as well but it was more one on one) when they were around. Not sure about the ST CUVs though.
Some of these arguments seem to ignore power to weight like the “500 horsepower is too much”. A 360 horsepower 2500 pound car accelerates the same as a 500 horsepower 3500 pound car.
In a reply above I talked about how I had asked about a GT500 in 2007 when I was buying my 07 GT. The sales guy laughed at me and pointed out a guy that reliably bought his fleet from that dealer and they still charged him an ADM. I also quipped about how no matter the brand it probably starts at a million and goes up…
On the flip side, there are plenty of people who love domestics and 150-200% over msrp is chump change. For some schmuck that can afford to pay the MSRP but cashes in on the equity in their home to get one for the ADM, yeah that is approaching banality.
lol, it seems like “loyalty” regardless of the brand starts at 1 million. I remember when I bought my 07 GT and asked about a GT500 that year. Salesman all but told me I wasn’t shit unless I was bringing in the kind of money somebody engaging in fleet purchases and the bastard still told me that guy had to a pay…
Hmmm.... what’s that I’m hearing? Oh yeah, there it is “don’t blame the player, blame the game.”
Ford is just responding to a market where people increasingly buy suvs and cuvs. Even in cartopia Europe the trend is toward those types of vehicles. They were likely emboldened by the success of the Maverick which is…
Of course, your sample size is probably nowhere near his. He doesn’t have a dig against the brand. He just knows where the most common problems show up.
—> I rev it up to the moon “to make sure I understood what the car does” <—
This right here, that’s something a lot of drivers don’t get. Especially with modern T4s and T6s as well as big ol’ low revving V8s.
I see it all the time with coyote powered Mustangs.
lol, you say that “it is a Honda” and I can hear my brother now “Honda... great... a bunch of fuck’n electrical issues”. Guy is a mechanic and spent well over a decade in the import parts business, so he had some pretty good insight into various manufacturers and their Achilles heels.
We are transitioning into a time when passenger cars are going to be mostly EV and great ICE drives like the S2000 will be a thing of the past (unfortunately its not the other way around since shitty ass brodozers, suvs and cuvs to a lesser extent will still exist in ICE form for the most part) so expect to see this…
Somebody with three kids, a house, and a demanding job?????
Hell, I’m retired and I just have a dog and that’s stopped me from doing a lot of stuff until he ages out and I’m all on my lonesome once more.
Does it really matter when car ownership is exceeding a decade or more. I worked 32 years in the tire biz and I literally watched customers buy cars and use them for years then pass those cars down to their kids. In one case I installed tires on a new couple’s brand-new Accord watched them have kids, go through a…
The last Mustang I bought was 63k (Shelby GT350) three years ago and I priced out a Dark Horse and it hit 71k no problem. Ford started getting stupid with the Mustang at least with the S550 Mach 1 which could hit 70k loaded to the gills and while the Dark Horse is the successor it just doesn’t feel right. Especially…
The Mustang did indeed come with a 3.3 liter inline six less than 50 years ago since it was an optional engine in the early fox body. It even had a unique K-member. The engine was replaced after the 1982 model year so its been 41 years since a Mustang has had an inline six.
Your peasant instincts aren't wrong. I bought a loaded GT350 sans 6 way heated and cooled seats for 63k with a rebate over a special order screw up. GM and Dodge exiting the domestic sporty/sports coupe market had just embolden Ford to go crazy with pricing.
Its a shame GM botched the Camaro so badly. They offered a compelling package from a performamce standpoint and if it had been a viable competitor in terms of sales it could have helped anchor the Mustang’s price. The day to day livability and styling drove anybody but a fan boi into Ford and Dodges arms and now that…
Yep, another victim of the pathetic autoragic scum crowd which is a shame. I haven’t driven the A10 EB car bit I found the A6 EB really bad in sport mode at least. The kindest thing I could say about the A6 EB Mustang is that is was a poor attempt at creating a bad arcade driving simulator. The A10 cars might be…
