They do and it depends on where you’re at in VA but I think 4.5% of the assessed value is common. They also tax cars until they hit the 25-year mark so it can be really expensive over the life of the vehicle. I know of one case where a guy was paying 10k a year in property taxes for his 05 or 06 Ford GT. The galling

lol, you say that like it’s a bad thing. I’ll take the “died in that old rattle trap they loved so much” option over subsisting on a fixed income eating canned dog food while living costs force a person to go back to work while suffering from declining health and having to compete with and maintain a productivity

Yeah, most likely inferred which isn’t usual in the industry. I’m sure if an aftermarket CCB system is installed the same warning would pop up

This is Tesla’s top performance car... My shitbox Mustang from yestertech legacy manufacturer Ford can do 10 stops no problem 100-0 and can go an hour ( never ran it more than that so I can’t comment on more than an hour ) or more non-stop on track bone stock and it costs about 60k less.

Even in back to back runs there is plenty of time for the brakes to cool down at the drag strip. If not there would be a lot of carnage as bolting in a light weight braking system is a common mod for drag racers. I can’t count how many times I’ve seen a base model brake system installed on a manufacturer’s top track

I don’t think those guys qualify as engineers. Tuners maybe but definitely not engineers even if somebody is holding a degree since they don’t appear to be developing parts for the car.

Its says they do own the car but meh... Tesla should have baked in a better brake system for the Plaid instead of waiting for the media to expose the problem. They also skipped on the high speed dynamics of the vehicle as outlets are reporting it’s sketchy as hell at speed.

Seating a tire with a combustible product is pretty dumb for a few reasons not the least of which is that it can roast the inner liner and compromise the tire - hell when tire repairs are done they ( as in whatever the RMA is called now) recommends using all the tools at low speed to avoid heat build up as they

lol, would have been perfect for a young couple I saw rock’n it out in a Vanagon at Costco one day! Walked by, said “wait a minute that ain’t no Lochness Monster???!!!” and continued on to my car.

Anonymity breeds a particular type of shitbag.

Yeah I’m still baffled why people still use horses???? Gas automobiles were better in every way except for glue and dog food yet horses still persist and people unfathomably enjoy interacting with them.

JD IQS surveys aren’t that much different. They poll owners as well.

At least with Alfa it’s recognized self flagellation. Tesla stans on the other hand maintain that they have the best built, most advanced and reliable domestic car in existence ( also not true on that last count since the Ford Mustang with manual trans tops the list with the most ‘murican content ).

If Sandy Munro is correct there will be plenty of affordable Chinese EVs hitting the US. He maintains the domestics, Europe and Japan are going to get a straight up ass whooping by China even worse compared to when Japan murdered the domestic market with cheap, well made and reliable cars.

Unfortunately your low hanging fruit they figure either doesn’t warrant or can’t afford legal representation.

Not even an honorable mention for John Z DeLoren???? He  robbed Great Britain with the help of Colin Chapman and was an all around sleezy human being.

The biggest problem with japanese imports now are probably Gen-X’ers / millenials with no kids or early birthers with the kids out of the house and lots of disposable income and a desire to relive the glory years for those into the import scene

lol, the advice on Jalopnik from everybody above the Mason-Dixon to everybody below it every winter;

On decel and coasting the engine will cut fuel as a fuel saving and emissions strategy.

Well OP is correct when it comes to surface roads and the occasional weird left lane off-ramp on the highway.
