For me the trick is melatonin at bedtime + sunlight during waking hours. On the plane, put yourself in the new time zone and if time permits take a melatonin at usual bedtime and sleep. At the destination, stay awake and outside if possible, exposure to sunlight, stay awake until the new bedtime, then take melatonin
