I don’t think the video necessarily suggests that old games were better. It just shows that some interesting details were forgotten or being sacrificed for other features.
The gun jamming/wearing sure was a feature that was more annoying than inventive, it’s not missing from that video though, it’s right here.

I’m sure it’s a fun game, but I can’t help but look at this comparison with Far Cry 2 (which came out 10 years ago) and feel sad so many features didn’t carry over to the new games... except for the guns jamming, that shit was annoying.

They are so inconsistent. One time it will do 6 damage, barely scratching the opponent, another time it will do 200 damage, killing the opponent with one shot – which is too damn powerful in a Battle Royal style game if you ask me.

As for the game, it may be too early to tell. As far as I know it’s going to be supported for quite a while. They could be adding lots of stuff in the months or years to come.

I liked my MGS themed ones better. 😝

I’m saying the exponential growth of Fortnite could actually do it more harm than good. Gaining popularity doesn’t automatically mean rising quality – how many things in the past got worse because they got too big for their own good? You see that happen all the time.
