Likely a sports car with no A/C would be A) >$100,000. B) a convertible C) both

I assume you're trolling. I've never once been in a Volkswagen with power windows in which 100% of the windows were operational. Without the soft-touch luxo-interior and quality components VW is known for, what exactly is the "quality" you refer to?

I currently am wearing the same facial expression I don when I see a mother smoking while holding a newborn.

I see nothing wrong with drinking beer in a vehicle as long as you're on private property and aren't likely to hit someone.

I grew up in the south. Then, when I finished growing up, I moved north. To the South.

Judging by what I've seen of Southerners, most of that gas money is spent cruising dirt roads with a case of beer in the passenger seat.

We still almost double the #2 country (China) in terms of $ of manufacturing. We don't make widgets anymore, but we do make some really expensive whizbangs.

You say you don't have the money or time for more education, but I urge you to reconsider. Every place I've ever lived has had a technical center or community ed building somewhere nearby. Any of these places offer cheap, convenient classes. For less than $200, I could go sign up for a beginner welding course that

My wife would like to suggest the notorious temporary head gasket in the late 90's-early 00's subarus.

$10k is less than what you'd spend properly converting a miata to a v8. That being said, I wouldn't bother converting a miata to a carbed 302, and the particular style choices (fuel filler, mousetrap style bar) are not confidence-inspiring.

Ooof. That rear. They haven't gotten the back end of this car right in a long time. They obviously stole from Mazda for the front, couldn't they have gotten some tips for the back, too?

The weight of the PRHT isn't an issue. My problem is that it's so slow. 17 seconds to put the top up is too long - I love to blast down the highway in a downpour, and then slam on my brakes at the end of the offramp, sling the top up, and get back on the highway.

I would sell my left kidney (or more likely, my NA) if the ND ended up <2200lbs. I highly doubt it'll break 2300, but even at that weight, it would be fantastic.

The problem with horsepower is that it kills the fun. I can (and frequently do) take my '93 to redline driving through the countryside, and I never even break the speed limit. I floor it driving up the mountain to work, and feel like I'm in a racecar. Some day, I'll have a sports car with more horsepower than
