When do I get a pair of those, side-by-side, in the engine bay of my Ford Galaxie (retro-new for MY2013)?

The other Wagner wants his valkyries back.

@arozzi is 아로지?: I would gladly strap on a 4-point and a helmet if the next-gen miata weighed less than a ton.

@ChiefPontiaxe is now also Chief VolvoWagonAxe: Agreed. Anyone who has a love affair with The Southwest (the tumbleweed kind of The Southwest) knows the unexplainable joy of light surface rust completely covering a sun-baked american highway cruiser.

@Baby Beater Benz: I once called a business named "Sooner Radiator Repair", and asked if they had any drain plugs for my radiator. They told me they stock no parts, only new radiators. It was a sad moment.

@bigmoosen: You wouldn't rebuild a 9speed, any more than you'd refurbish a single cog on a 4-speed. The whole unit is a "toss and replace" item.

@alan505: transfer cases are the answer. Standard 5-speed gearbox, with a 4speed transfer case (F Hi, F Lo, R Hi, R Lo)

@MaWeiTao: Until automated manuals have some way of instantly disconnecting the engine from the wheels (like, a clutch pedal, or a neutral position), I won't consider them a viable replacement for a real manual.

@Jeb_Hoge: I'm pretty confident it would be alright - but I'd test it on a junk van first, to be sure.

@irishman72: I would park it next to my Element.

@JDickson87: Isn't the speed limit on most of those roads 70 or 75 anyway? With the normal fudge factor for Nevada figured in, most people are already going at least 85. 90 is not news.

You guys are missing a big point. This poor bastard still has to share a yacht with his family.

@arozzi: This is key. You don't stop buying Ferraris just because they catch fire. Supercars that don't self-immolate is like like a casino where you win every bet - it's awesome for a while, but eventually you have all the money and the thrill of gambling has disappeared.

@wild7s: Absolutely my favorite kei car. It's like a miata, for people who are tired of all the wasted space.

All our cars are stick - we even hunted down a manual transmission Element.

@gallahad: Alfas are never a fault, if it's an Also car, and not an Only car.

@JackTrade: I hate to be that guy who makes you feel old, but 1988 was 22 years ago, not 12.

@lilwillie: Actually, this'll probably keep gas prices down a while longer - sneaky way to keep people happy with the oil companies.

@OG_: This particular pickup is not meant specifically for towing.
