@Mitch1001: Based on average ownership of 6 months between ending up backwards in a tree.

@homeslice60148: It costs me <$500/yr for full coverage on my miata, and I've got 1 accident still on my record.

@willyolio: I've heard, though not experienced, that mid-90's through mid-00's civics are the worst. Something about the suspension being horribly ruined in just about any impact.

@08GTImkV: my buddy's GPS let us know that the speedometer on his '99 caravan is grossly inaccurate once you hit triple-digits.

@Alfisted: If you'd ever driven the Kansas turnpike, you'd know there's no redemption. The road is clean and fast, but you still have to pay for it in time and cash.

@jrstryker: I'm gonna guess not near DC.

@jalopnikfan: This makes me sad for the days of yore.

@Baby beater Benz: Family roadtrip in the suburban, we're cruising through the southwest desert (I'm thinking NM, but I was young and I'm not quite sure). There's a motorhome ahead of us, so my dad moves to the oncoming lane to pass. Only, there's no more go. Turns out, 110 really IS the top speed of that 'burban.

A Delorean is one of those cars that will always be fun to see, but why you would want to own one is beyond me.

@Graverobber: " anyone who has attempted to stick a magnetic CB antenna onto a DeLorean will attest. "

Does "let me ask my driver" count?

They had just thrown some fresh gravel down, on a curvy backroad I thought I knew pretty well. Was doing the speed limit (45), turned the wheel right, and just kept going straight ahead off the road and into a cornfield. I've had much more dangerous, and much more damaging incidents, but I got to watch this one

I don't see what the problem with the doors is - we're talking about a Festiva truck. This is fantastic.

@Elhigh: That was what I saw, but I'm as much of a racer as you.

@K2THEM: A turbo 1.8 would be pretty excellent for track/commuting. I don't know about a V8 conversion - those people swear they're daily-drivable, but I'd have to see for myself.

PB Blaster. You never have it when you need it, and it's impossible to find a good penetrating oil anywhere other than an auto store.

$3,400 is a lot of money for the honor of throwing a boatload of cash at this car to make it live up to its potential.

@K2THEM: "Small engine: 1.8l"

@Blitzschnell: The only thing I'm wondering is - isn't the steering on this thing electronic? If so, then "power steering" means something altogether more menacing.
