There was only one problem with that adaptation: it was way too short!

I can’t speak for the studio being bought from under Vinton but it turned his aimless son into an accomplished animation director. And it’s helping to keep a dying form of animation alive and innovating.
I find most people in the US who describe themselves as “libertarian” basically mean “Republican, but not willing to admit it”
Compound? Who is he, David Koresh?
Martin Short is a goddamn Canadian National Treasure
Is that supposed to be a hard question to answer?
I watch the “horse sand” scene whenever I need a little pick-me-up (so basically three or four times a day). “Hot rolls and marmalade, anyone?”
Knight didn’t target the studio for acquisition. As the documentary shows, Vinton approached him for backing because he thought, naively, that a local businessman would be more likely to go easy on him, and agreed to disastrous terms that Knight took seriously.
Oh, this was such wonderful book. I’ll be interested to see what they do with it.
Can’t wait. Piranisi was a uniquely intriguing book and Susanna Clarke is an outstanding writer (though not very prolific). Glad that they are going with something like stop-motion rather than live-action. It *could* be done live action, but this feels like the right choice.
Um, go run out and watch the series. It’s literally one of the best adaptations I’ve ever seen. The changes they make are very smart to help tell the story, nothing done just for the hell of it.

Dune: The Disembodied Floating Head Cut
Anything that could be salvaged from the original production would suffer badly by comparison to Villenueve’s version, so I don’t see how there’s the first bit of incentive for Lynch to even attempt it.
Sure, why not?
“They’re going to milk it for all its worth. ... Also, all of these sound great.”
I am a Superman Returns defender, even if I acknowledge that the nostalgia and the Superman theme is doing the heavy lifting for it. And that its a movie that paid several sex offenders.
I figured you would be more familiar with his kneeling height
I think he would have been a great Clark/Superman, but man am I glad there was never a Ratner directed Superman.
