I'm not and environmentalist, per se, but is does read like you are very much downplaying the impact on the environment there...
It's a huge environmental concern. Yes other bigger fish exist but why should the oil sands get a free pass? Oh we're contaminating ground water, soil and poisoning the environment, plus look at the huge rise of illness in the local population. Oh they are native? Well, bigger fish to fry.
God forbid there should be dangerous stuff on a military base.
I disagree. Temple of Doom was great. All the magic crap was no different from the Ark or the Grail, and at least it took some risks. I would rank them Raiders/Temple/Grail, but it's a close race for second place.
