It teaches students that the Darren Wilson defense works. Tell the world you, a white person, fear for your life just by virtue of sharing space with a person of color, and the world will let you off the hook.

To hate all adults for all time? I dunno, that’s what I learned in middle and high school.
Awwww...thanks! I hope so. Going to try to teach art or general technology, a liberal leaning teacher will be a good thing for a student in Texas to have access to.
In about a year I, hopefully, will be teaching in Texas. After hearing about this I’m wondering if I will be able to hack it with all these stupid teachers, school boards, and parents. I wonder if I will be moving out of Texas for the first time in my life after teaching here for a year or two.
The engineering teacher told him not to tell other teachers about it. Perhaps he was concerned they might overreact negatively.
They not only are racist as hell for assuming it was a bomb, but if they truly believed it was a bomb then they also underestimated his intelligence because they clearly assumed it wouldn't work or else they'd have evacuated the school. They are a bunch of shitty, dumb, racist assholes.
I think he had an intent.
I agree; it doesn’t bode well for those other kids’ futures. What happened to Ahmed was awful and wrong, but getting out of there now will hopefully be very beneficial for him. If only the other kids there had that chance as well.
“we cannot allow items on campus that can be perceived to pose a threat.”
This is probably naive, but I’m still amazed that they’re holding fast and tight to the three-day suspension. Even though they were proven every possible kind of wrong, and there’s no way to prove that he had intent to pose jack shit.
Did anyone else see this excellent kid on Chris Hayes last night? “I call it the interrogation room because it’s where I was interrogated.”
I’m so disgusted by MacArthur ISD’s response to this whole situation. Those involved seem to believe that they really, truly did nothing wrong. It’s atrocious.
Our ally, y'all.
She’s beautiful. My thoughts and prayers go out to her.
Clara Barton actually seemed like a pretty interesting pick. If I didn’t know that Walker had worked for the Red Cross, that answer would make me slightly more interested in him as a candidate. (Although I’d still rather see a woman who doesn’t fit so squarely into the caregiver model on the $10.)
Oh, he’s 100% right. Hamilton deserves to be on the money. Jackson sure as fuck doesn’t.
I’m kind of surprised Huckabee didn’t say Kim Davis.
you don’t want to hear this
This should be on the wall next to the classic logical fallacies poster of everybody who wants to do anything that influences anybody else’s life...and it should be consulted before any people-influencing action is attempted
