The most fun car I've ever driven is easily my Sunbeam Imp Sport and they can be had within that budget.
The second generation Sunbeam Rapier never lived up to its rally bred predecessor. Similarly the Alpine version has always been in the shadow of previous Alpines.

I hope you realise that in Australia base model Falcons like this are only bought by fleets and old people. It's basically Australia's Buick.
Finding it very hard to narrow down to just one, but I think it's going to have to be the type 35 Bugatti.
I liked Matchbox so much more before Mattel bought them out.
@Armand: In Sunbeam specification this engine was named Rallymaster, and with good reason.
Shades of Austin Rover?
Since I also use my workspace as a meeting room I can't have too much crap in there, but I do have some automotive-themed prints on the walls, and a Hillman Imp business card holder.
@They call me MISTER Scroggs!: I drive past the site of the old Surfers Paradise circuit most days and a heartbreaking site it is. They've turned it into a residential development for people with more money than taste.
The once great Talbot marque. Already bastardized a couple of times during its history, now there's talk that Peugeot will reintroduce it as an entry level brand similar to Renault's Dacia. Nooooooo. Peugeot, just what did poor Talbot do to you?
