I've had a soft spot for the Heinkel since I had a toy one as a kid.

I'm biased since I drive one, but... not all small British cars with go kart handling are Minis. The Imp was more than a match for it's fwd competitor, if only quality issues with early ones hadn't given it such a stigma. I always have trouble convincing people that the engine is less than a litre. Three back-to-back…
I don't think anything compares with the sheer horror of the 1955 Le Mans.
Fitch also competed in international rallying, driving for the factory Sunbeam team. This was of course in an era when it was not uncommon for top level racing drivers to moonlight in rallying - something that seems to be making a comeback recently.

@earlofhalflight: Ooops, that should be Ford Telstar. They didn't really name a car after our largest telecommunications company.
Australia has had some shocking examples over the years.
A shame too that Chrysler killed off Rootes' Asp project. Chrysler reportedly couldn't comprehend that anyone would want to buy a small Midget/Spitfire-sized sports car.
Looking back Chrysler's decision to can the Rootes V6 before it was ever fitted to a production car seems like a big mistake. I can't help but wonder how the 180/2 litre story may have been different had the V6 been available. It would have given the fastback Rapier a much needed performance boost too.
@Mr.choppers - Delenda Carthago Est: Since Talbot was founded in England, "Tall-bot" is actually the correct pronounciation. It's the French who have it wrong. ;)
Despite having a soft spot for Peugeot-era Talbots, it has to be said - Sunbeam Lotus aside - they weren't the marque's finest moment.
Grace Kelly's Sunbeam from To Catch a Thief.
@spectra: Sunbeam Tiger actually!
If there's one thing that brings a smile to this curmudgeon's face it's seeing that 50 years on Sunbeam can still kick MG's arse once in a while.
No Rootes Group vehicles? Sigh. I'll never give up hope that one day an Imp will feature in one of these games.
