It wasn't trying to have the same film noir feeling (except in the flashbacks). It did however, have a fantastic style of its own, great storytelling and dialogue, beautiful graphics (on PC at least), and awesome gameplay. It more than lived up to the Max Payne name in my book, it was phenomenal.

What's the likelyhood of breakage or tearing compared to a standard one? Having thin condoms sounds like an awesome idea until it breaks and the entire purpose of using one at all is ruined...

The Stallone version was awful, but at least it's kinda funny in that "they ruined something I love but I still enjoy cheesy action movies" way I guess. SMB I'm not fond of, but oh god, Demolition Man has a special place in my heart.

Whoah, whoah.

Dredd was a fricking AMAZING movie, but no need to put down Pacific Rim. We live in a world that allows us to love both =D

And if you were talking more shock-y than that, yes, I've seen everything from Cannibal Holocaust to Tokyo Gore Police to A Serbian Film. I know my disturbing films xD

I was referring to the general combination of the movies he suggested, but yeah. I suppose if you're going for all out gore, something like the remake of Evil Dead was way more like that than Dredd (which was also a phenomenal recent movie).

Yeah, I think the Stallone version scared people off, because it's a fucking godawful movie. But the Dredd comics are great, and this movie was just OHGOD good.

Ah, another connoisseur of great cheesy, gory action flicks.

Dredd was such a fantastic movie. There's a big push to make the planned sequel, I hope it works out. The first movie didn't do nearly as well as it deserved to =(

Ah, that's true, I forgot people used to do that. No-scoping and quick scoping the AWP in CS:GO is borderline useless, so I've kinda forgotten about that.

HL and CS have a built in crosshair customization thing, though. I have a dot in the middle of my screen already when I play CS =/

I don't own a PS4 yet either, or an X1. I'll eventually own all 3 systems, probably starting with an X1 in the spring.

I prefer the Xbox controller so I'll use it for all the multiplats I want (NFS Rivals for now, with Destiny and Watch Dogs and others coming), plus Dead Rising 3 and Forza 5 are already games I want.

PS4

I'm planning on getting a Wii U eventually, but the only 3 that have any merit to me at all are Mario 3D World, Wind Waker HD, and ZombiU. So before last week, there was literally 1 game I wanted for it.

Marketing did hurt the Wii U with the non-gamer crowd, but the reason it isn't being bought by actual gamers is because it only has 3 games worth playing and "caught up" to HD in the year 2012.

My friend's Linux box crashed, and then when you booted it, it brought up a box with either "Yes", or "No". No question, just those 2 answers. And clicking either one just reset the box and asked again.

If that car fit the aesthetics of the game universe and was intentionally going for a stylized setting instead of real life simulation, it would be fine. The cars in games like Twisted Metal don't work in real life, so people play GT or Forza for realism. Just like how you can play ArmA or Flashpoint for gun realism.

That's not what I said in any way. I said that they use gun tropes to ground it in reality and make it recognizable as a gun, but due to the fictional setting they chose to then focus on aesthetics instead of real life simulation.

Your Forza comparison doesn't work because Forza is a simulator. Killzone and the likes are not.

Games like ArmA attempt gun simulation, and do a generally awesome job at it.

ArmA and Forza simulate realism, Killzone and racers like Blur go for fictional badassery. It's like complaining about how Inglorious Basterds

"That is my favorite star wars game of all time."

O.o

Was it the only Star Wars game you've ever played?

Sorry, I just thought it was awful. Even just counting OG Xbox games, KotOR 1+2, BF 1+2, and Jedi Starfighter were all excellent. Games like Clone Wars and Obi-Wan will forever be remembered by me as "god awful".

Hey, Shane, I've been 360/PC exclusive for most of the last gen (had a Wii for a little bit), but I'm wanting to pick up a PS3 to play all the games I missed, and to give me a "new console feel" now that I'm hankering for an X1 (forcing myself to wait a bit on that). Unfortunately, my setup won't won't work well with
