I love getting an article without hyperbole, and this guy is clearly talented and creative, but inventive? People have been making plaster friezes as long as there has been plaster (pre-drywall/joint compound), and mud before that.

Drywall?? Don’t you mean joint compound or maybe spackling? Isnt’ that just “plaster”?
