I hate the idea that a 3-5 ton luxury vehicle used to shuffle around a single well-to-do douchebag is suddenly cheaper to own than the $1500 beater that a single mother of four drives to and from work (and occasionally DoorDashes with), but won’t someone think of the rich I guess.

I’d argue the reason they made it a Jeep is it’s under a far more recognizable brand than it would’ve been through Chrysler, but the rest of what you said is spot-on.

This should extend to almost every other Infiniti on sale, and that’s from experience too. My parents were looking at the QX60 and they were cut a pretty good discount off MSRP plus a whole plethora of perks to consider, but when it came down to it they bought a smaller, older, used X3 for the same price (no discounts)…

Horsepower figures in the real world don’t really matter. What’s the point of having more power when you can’t put it down the way the competition can?
