She was drunk when she was driving on non-highway roads to get onto the highway that BlueCruise allows, so she’s still responsible.

A lawyer is obligated to make a vigorous defense.  If he can produce reasonable doubt by blaming the machine he will. Since the machine requires  human oversight,  I think the driver will still be held responsible and rightly so.

Man, if only there were some way to confirm this theory.

I doubt that he “failed to spot” but more likely ignored. Like all these idiots that see a height restriction yet continue forward taking out their bridges and trailers.

To be fair - this was technically a liquor delivery van. It delivered liquor right to the scene of the accident.

There are also no severed heads here:

Dumbass. Not a damn lick of common sense, they have no business operating an 18 ton object. The truck itself likely met or exceeded the bridge weight depending on configuration so shouldn't have crossed empty.

Is there actual, peer-reviewed data that concludes signing along with the radio is visually distracting? IANADr, but I know that audio and visual areas of the brain are quite different and utilize very different sensory inputs. Instead, it would seem that singing along minimizes day-dreaming/boredom, something that

Man, it really sucks when someone tells you what you can and can’t do with your body, like, taking away your choice to do something.

I work at Whole Foods (an Amazon subsidiary), and it’s almost as bad there.

Someone should do a list of printers that instantly make you hate their drivers. (I guess it wouldn’t be car related though.)

Autozone mods finally available for Teslas?

Definitely a dumb idea, but at least this particular item is on an EV, which barely uses the friction brakes thanks to the regenerative braking system. Unless you’re track driving it probably wouldn’t be noticeably worse. Unless debris gets caught of course, unsure how close the clearances are.

I just think it’s entirely reasonable for FAA to say “Wait a second, something unexpected happened and we don’t want something else unexpected that might be more dangerous to happen, so let’s talk about this a bit. Explain it so that we have reasonable confidence you won’t create a dangerous situation in the National

It’s preferred to have the number of successful landings exactly equal the number of successful launches. And if you lost control of your vehicle then you’ve lost control of your vehicle, and that needs checking out. Nonetheless we’re at least a month away from the earliest possible launch of a SpaceX launch to the

That sound you just heard, that weird high pitched whinny followed by a heartfelt scream of “fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!!!!, that was NASA now frantically considering the whole “just haul Atlantis out of the museum” joke a viable plan...

There are professional level events, yes. Most people race either for fun or to get their kids into it as a stepping stone to other racing. But there are sanctioned events even in the US that 1) have a prize purse 2) often attract professional drivers (stock car, dirt, whatever) 3) have scouts looking for talent.

Fake wood would be decent in some applications, but I’m also a fan of the aluminum weave trim:

Ahhh, yes. The joy of finding the smallest mistake on someone’s internet post and then putting them on blast like they punched your grandma.

Our bus driver would just pull over if we got too rowdy and wait for us to settle down. She always had the windows down on hot days though and drove the living hell out of that bus lol. Still remember her name, Wendy, had her from elementary all the way through Highschool graduation, she was good bus driver.
