When I got out of college I found that the paper license I had been carrying was gone. I presume it found its way into a washing machine. So when I got a job in a new state I needed to take a driver’s test. Fortunately my parents came to visit and offered their car for the test. It too was from out of state. While

Not sure about “could not see it. I managed to not run over a black cow in the middle of unlit part of a highway at 10 pm in a rural area. The CRV certainly had reflectors that a cow does not. The cow, by the way, was resting after it appears a semi hit it.

I’m betting it landed on the Earth. It’s thin fiberglass over essentially a paper honeycomb core. Maybe the skin is 0.015 metal (3 sheets of paper thick) but more likely the fiberglass for dent resistance.

There’s no warning about when a bumper cover slides off.

It’s an aerodynamic non-structural cover over a non-pressurized area mainly to increase fuel mileage and make the plane look slick while keeping fingers out of the flap actuator linkage. I think this is the plane that was originally sold to Continental Airways. It’s 25 years old.

Wait until you hear about how the voyage of Christopher Columbus turned out for a lot of people. Edge of your seat ending.

That’s it. Dammit. (Throws sequel in trash in an exaggerated fashion)

Gary Oldman, because he already is playing the part of each actor.

Great plan. Student makes a fake “he’s got a gun” call and waits in the path of the person who is authorized to get that gun and takes out their kneecaps or the back of their head with a baseball bat as they head towards the fake danger. Now the student has a gun. I bet the training didn’t involve avoiding getting

It’s a shame when the 99% who don’t make the remaining 1% look bad.

No doubt he does.

Get a grip. BMW turn signal engineers manage to keep it together. Be more like them.

The only actors I really don’t like are Toby the dog and the one who plays the disaster demon in the insurance commercials.

Since the frame and drive are interlocking loops, to use the belt the frame needs a place for the belt to cut through, adding a structural break in continuity. With roller chain, the links can be separated and rejoined using a pin tool or a removable link allowing the use of a continuous frame.

In this case it isn’t so much hindsight as that the airline used predictive maintenance software to look for anomalous events and act on them before things went south. In this case the software suggested they immediately look for the cause of the problem and the airline blew off their own recommendation.

The pilots f’d with it. They had a jam condition and could have landed with difficulty but decided to do some percussive maintenance to break it loose. They succeeded and it came completely lose. It’s a general caution to not attempt repairs of failures with unknown causes from the cockpit while in the air.

Worse than that - they didn’t inspect the actual condition of the nut on the jackscrew and didn’t use the correct tool to measure wear of that nut. What didn’t help was that the redunancy was fictional - the backup nut saw exactly the same wear mechanism and was eroded just the same. All it did was allow the wear to

Humans win, so far, because they can build models and simulations of the outside world based on previous experience with building models and simulations of the components of that world.

It’s the End of Days. If Mike Johnson gets Raptured I will definitely be ambivalent.

I needed to re-do the headliner in my car. Step one - remove the seats.
