Almost certainly not a lug nut or wheel spacer failure. It looks like an initial failure of the lower ball joint or lower knuckle. There is a flash of the brake disk still in place on the wheel near the end of the video after the second hit.
Smoke test. Saw a recent one where there was a crack at the filler nozzle weld; not a place people think to look.
There’s always DC Metro as an example - as the percentage of public funding went up, the reliability and number of buses went down. Problems that should be repaired in hours last for years. They put rail cars into service with wheels that might fall off.
It came into existence in the 1700s. It was used to seize abandoned pirate ships. Since the pirates weren’t willing to hang around the government needed a legal means to take the ship. So someone came up with the fiction of charging the ship with the crime of piracy, allowing that as a legal basis.
They are significant to the economy, not numerically, and not the typical abuser encountered in urban areas. Roughly 80% of the US lives in or very close to cities, so a typical driver is far more likely to encounter a truck abuser than a driver whose livelihood depends on responsible truck operation.
Not a V-6? Is it a radial? Perhaps a rotary!!
I’ve seen people driving around on those wheels, no tires required.
Probably held him for 12 hours before taking the sample.
That ambulance would be the first on the scene of an accident.
You don’t know how safe the driving the photo-enforced tickets was checking. Perhaps they were all at 3am on an abandoned stretch of road. Or the vehicle is parked at a place where the speed cam, triggered by other drivers, keeps being the one the cam company identifies.
Did I write “safe”?
Seems like the logical observation is that the driver had no crashes for 10 months and only crashed because police were involved. Perhaps this is a better argument for continuing to collect the money and not having police?
When the wings are roughly co-located along the fuselage it’s a biplane. When they are separated they are called tandem wing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tandem_wing
Boeing has admitted full responsibility for the second crash of its 737 Max model in Ethiopia, in a legal agreement with families of the 157 victims. Lawyers for the families said it was a “significant milestone” for families to achieve justice.Nov 11, 2021
No one braced for impact. Why would they? Until the moment of the crash the plane saw no accelerations outside of what planes normally experience from time to time. The recent one tossing carts, people, and smashing open overhead bins likely saw higher forces on passengers. The final report makes no mention of a call…
Recall when some people had accidents with the Audi 5000. Audi soon accepted responsibility and their sales tanked even though in 100% of the cases the fault was due to driver error, pushing the gas pedal instead of the brake. It took nearly 10 years for the Audi brand to recover in the USA.
There is a settlement fund already in place. This is arguing they should be allowed more. I think it is presently more than $1M per passenger, but that won’t make money for the lawyers who would not get a percentage. Not sure what they have promised to the families, but I bet it’s a lot more, and enough to make those…
There was less disruption to the flight path ahead of the impact than the recent incident during food service that tossed flight attendants and food carts and caused some people to hit luggage storage hard enough to open the doors.
If the pilot increases the chances of killing all the passengers, they will also die. No pilot will feel that obligation.
