Guess I need to read it again since I read it when it was first announced. It was a good book so it won't be too much of a hassle. My biggest LIKE that I can recall is the environment which leaves open for a wide variety of stories taking place more or less the same time.

I prefer doing a helium balloon before leaving a message. I then later tell the folks it must be thier phone system because my voice just doesn't sound like that!

I don't mind the story but don't dig the school because of one ass hat. I went there and a lot of good folks I know did too.

fast? I downloaded it and fired it up. Been 30+ minutes and still building a file list. I'll post when it gets farther along...

Can I borrow this for the upcoming St Louis Auto Show?

Not just memory but energy. I find that if I can get away from a very busy day at work and nap in the car for 20-30 minutes after lunch I do much better. I am less drained at work and have more energy at home.

These things always assume you want to meet just 1 person. I'd like to see it for a variable number of folks.

I have done it both ways. When a product/service works beyond expectations and when they fair. EVERY time I have gotten a reply. Key is to be polite, nice, and in case of a problem offer a reasonable solution that you would accept. Also, note if there is NOTHING you can accept.

The Land Shark one is here.... the other one was just one made by the kids. If I could figure out how to edit comments I would have...

Didn't work for me. Did a lot of nothing. Tried a few key combinations as well as the mouse. Time to uninstall.

This is an old concept. I saw something years ago then tried to make some stop-action movies with my daughters. I think the results came out well. Enjoy!

There are a few folks at my work that I would LOVE to drop a hint to. One is so bad that we keep tabs on the 'um's' during their chats. I am trying to, like, brake my daughter of, like, this bad habit before it gets, like, too bad.

I use it but I didn't like the fact that it requeted an outbound internet connection (thanks Zone Alarm for the heads up). Dunno why a screensaver would need that. Other than that - nice.

To folks who don't like being called by their name: DON'T WEAR A *&#^$*&^#$ NAME TAG! I prefer to call a server by his/her name because I dislike saying 'excuse me, guy with the water' or something like that. If I need something, and having 2 young kids that is almost always the case, if I don't see my server then I

Is there anything like this for video?

@maggard : I probably would have posted it but I (a) didn't think of it as clever - just common sense and (b) the internet at that time was still in it's baby stages, there was no LH.

Wow. Something I did in college OVER 20 years ago makes it to LifeHacker as something new.

My issue isn't cable right now - it is finding a decent desk or three for our new home office. Most either look like lab desks (like this guy) or HUGE overbearing formal office desks. I can worry about cables after I get rid of the current folding tables

This is SO old. I did this when I was in the service back in 1980. For 4 years I did it and when I got out I closed my account and had a HUGE going away amount!
