It’s total average speed, not that it’s correct. The speedo in both my BMWs are optimistic, so the average speed is never correct. The mileage is though. I think they deliberately make the speedo read higher.

In the trip computer there is a feature that counts duration of trip. Doesn’t reset until you reset the trip computer. Unless you talking about like an engine hour timer that has counted how long the engine has been on since new.

I do manually record everything. I figured excel was the best way to store and analyze the data. I always get a receipt and then write my mileage at the top. Also track things like maintenance costs, repairs, and things like that.

Driving back to Savannah after Irma I had to put regular in the my E92 328i. Had about a quarter tank of 93 left in it. Over that tank I didn’t see a drop in fuel economy.
