Not a 21st century thing. People have whined since the dawn of time. Shoot, we used to drown women for allegedly being witches and then there was that whole Segregation thing, Holocaust, and so on...

Wellllll. Those Busby Berkeley musicals were pretty dark. The best one of them all, Gold Diggers of 1933, while it starts with Ginger Rogers singing “We’re in the Money” (then they all get fired),  it ends with a 7 minute musical number about WWI veterans suffering in Great Depression poverty (My Forgotten Man).

The biggest disappointment?

“Call for Price”

I really hope the production microbus doesn’t follow the concept. It looks like a $200 electric toothbrush had a love affair with an off-brand bluetooth speaker.

I really wish you would point out how much danger it’s put their audience in to teach them the news lies. How many didn’t evacuate or prepare a adequately because “Trump says it’s fake news so what else are they lying about?! They’re blowing this up to sell stuff and make money!”

“To the privileged, equality feels like oppression.”

The new standard for a bad week will be “I have had a Mooch of a week.”

Proofreader Man to the rescue! (sorry, it’s late and I’m procrastinating at work)

I’ve always loved this movie, partly for the reasons discussed in this interview. I remember watching this movie as a child with my mother — herself a German-Jewish refugee from Berlin who left on the Kindertransport at 15 — and seeing the tears in her eyes as she, too, sang along to the Marseillaise, and as she told

As a vet myself this is something everyone needs to understand: sometimes American Soldiers die for no good reason. They die in accidents, in blue-on-blue attacks, from improper medical care, in stupid wars, in badly planned missions. It happens. “Soldiers have died” is not a reason to keep fighting in and of itself.

Jesus, that is disturbing.

Trump is a master of political theater. Like the pile of manila folders full of blank pages piled on a table to fool people into thinking that he has divested from his businesses or the signing ceremonies for many executive orders that will be immediately challenged in court or are so vague as to mean little. And

I’m placing blame on people who went into the election knowing who Donald Trump was and what was at risk but were butthurt over Hillary getting the nod or some other bullshit and cast a “protest vote” or didn’t vote at all, which helped get us to where we are today.m
