Sorry to burst your bubble but the price of food going up has nothing to do with Monsanto, ADM... It is driven by government regulation, and it will only continue to climb as FSMA really gets rolling. I have had to add 10% to my staff just to keep up with new FSMA regulations.

Ummmm. Chalupa. I just realized that I missed lunch today.

This article brings me to my favorite daydream topic; how far back in time could I go with current technology and have the technology still work?

I could see that. I think if we towed those type of loads regularly we would go with the 5.0 or possibly a SuperDuty.

Not yet. That is our concern as well but so far so good.

We don’t haul anything as heavy as horses. We regularly haul seed in the bed (500-600 pounds) and we have hauled irrigation equipment in a trailer (no more than a couple thousand pounds).

With our Dodge trucks it wasn’t one specific issue. It just seemed like there was always something wrong with the truck. We had an issue with the exhaust manifold on one of them, a leaky window on another. Probably the worst issue we had was a coolant leak. The USDA does not look kindly on coolant in the field.

Let me meet you half-way. I hate the compression and picture quality of streaming and the audio is usually substandard as well.

I manage the fleet for a farm (almost entirely 1/2 ton 4x4 trucks) and we tried a couple of Dodges but the just didn’t have the durability we were looking for.

Actually, the coolest feature is that now I can listen to my music/podcast over USB in my Sync3 equipped Ford truck. IOS 11.2.whatever broke that feature.

Exactly.

I had one of these. In 2009 I bought a 1995 with only 80,000 miles on the odometer. I loved the roominess and the styling. It had two major problems that ultimately forced me to sell it only a year after buying it.

Unfortunately, I think those days are gone.

A few comments/observations:

Perspective. I can afford a $40k vehicle. Unfortunately, it needs to be the one to seat my wife and all 4 of my kids.

This is exactly why I am not excited to see interest rate go up again. The math gets harder.

Only one Camaro was featured in that John Cusack start making movie “Better Off Dead”.

False. Deer are just really big rats that love to eat my garden.

I agree that my gear is substandard. I always view things from a very analytical perspective and even when I was camping once a month with the scouts I just could never bring myself to spend the money to upgrade my gear. Sure, it would have made the camping trip more enjoyable but it would not have taken it to the

Don’t buy into the hype. I have lived in the western US my whole life (by Yellowstone actually) and even achieved the Boy Scout Rank of Eagle and there is nothing in the outdoors worth rolling in the dirt for. You will stink, your food will get burned and you will be filthy and miserable at the same time, that is as
