The piece of information missing from the article is any mention of how profitable the WaPo actually is. It is easy to look at Bezos’ net worth and assume that he can afford the raises but business doesn’t work that way. If the paper isn’t making much/any money then there will be no pay raises.

Now playing

We only get snow a couple of times per year but the school district requires that all busses in our district have automatic tire chains.

You hit the nail on the head. Most everything else i tackled myself but the suspension was a little much for my meager shop and skills. That one ran me almost $1,000.

The problem I am running into is mine has reached the age where all the rubber bits are needing replaced. In the last 12 months I have had to do the cooling system overhaul, both cam position sensors, the oil pan gasket, and the front suspension.

Owner of (almost) the exact car you describe. I have a 2002 525i with both the Comfort and Sport package as well as the HID headlights. It feels as solid as a bank vault and takes all the money in the bank vault to keep it running. Also, no heated seats.

I’m sure you have. You just thought it was a Ford Explorer.

I find humor in living in the “Tri-Cities” that now has four cities. I will also pick on Pasco, well, for being Pasco, Richland for being snooty and East Kennewick, because it should be part of Pasco. I will pick on my home town for trying to show that round-abouts work (fun fact, there are three things people do not

I believe that SSC knows what they are doing. The fake news part is that West Richland is a city. That is like saying that Finley isn’t a haven for meth addicts.

We had a 2005 Nissan Quest and if it spent any time in a below freezing environment upon startup the speedo would bounce between 120 and 0. The tach would bounce all around as well and every warning light on the dash would light up like a Christmas tree. This was all a little unnerving as the car had an electronic

We used to pour hot water around the door, but only to people we hated.

I have put 14,000 miles on an F150 with the 10 speed auto and actually enjoy that transmission. It never stutters or “forgets” what gear it is in. I think it is also a major contributor to the 21 mpg I have gotten over those 14,000 miles.

Sorry, but your dad is part of the problem. People with diesel powered vehicles have always been allowed to fuel themselves. The same is true for motorcycles.

Mine have three settings and I start on the middle setting, which is perfectly toasty within 2 minutes. I then switch to the lowest setting for the remainder of my commute. I just wish the heated seats would turn on with the remote start.

Fake news. He wants to build the facility in “West” Richland. “West” Richland keeps trying to be a real place but it is called Tri-Cities for a reason. Not Quad Cities (I think that one is already taken) and it is not Tri-Cities plus One.

In my house the rankings are based on which movie we quote the most. A Bug’s Life is sneaky re-quotable and would probably be in our top 5.

Disagree. As I climbed into my F150 with the non-leather seats this morning at 22 degrees it was nice to have a warm butt and back while the rest of the truck got up to temperature.

Great. What former glory boy/retread are we going to get in the desert now? I find it baffling that my alma mater can’t seem to field a competitive football team. The weather is nice and the school facilities are top notch.

Calm down Oregon. Only 18 of your 36 counties will qualify under this law. The only people that ever pumped my guess had pock marks on their faces and were missing teeth. I was always more afraid that the attendant was going to steal my credit card number.

Call it whatever you want. I drove one and it felt very cheap. I have also driven the new Mazda3 and I thought it felt far more substantial and better put together.

Nope. I had one of these as a rental and when you close the door it sounded like a tin can.
