I love how this country feels the need run government services as if they’re a for profit business.

I haven’t been in any vehicle with any kind of driver assist akin to what’s talked about here or in Teslas, etc. but I have to think that, done correctly, with your unfettered focus on what the car’s systems are doing, at the ready to take over at any moment, would be more tiring/numbing than actually doing the…
In many states, including mine, the troopers will pull people over for sitting in the left lane even if they are doing the speed limit. The left lane is for passing. That’s the law. If you’re sitting in the left lane and there’s a long line of traffic behind it’s more of a safety concern than a bunch of drivers doing…
This deal was worked and approved by the Trump admin’s USPS Board and finalized 31 days into the Biden administration.
“The Biden administration”
I think the real question is that when the EPA said 8mpg did they rate it with the EPA test cycle, or did they rate it for USPS use... because if it’s the EPA test cycle... that’s probably going to be closer to 3 or 4mpg when in actual use.
which begs the question: “Why the hell are these not EVs then?” it’s literally the perfect use case for EVs since idling does not waste energy like it does in an ICE.
It’s just simply not worth it. We see how it ended in this instance, and we’ve now seen multiple instances of people pulling guns. It’s just not worth it. It’s to the point where if I see two people aggressively driving and clearly antagonizing one another, I get as far away as I can for fear of gunfire erupting.
Really amazed at the “both-sides-ism” here.
It’s unclear if the two had had a prior run-in on the road, or if the truck driver simply didn’t want the sedan getting ahead.
COVID-related supply chain shortages are leading to some interesting body shop repairs.
Depending on where he is in Oregon there’s maybe a week every year where studded snows make sense. Looking at the photo, I’m going to guess Portland area with the majority of Oregon residents in which case unless you’re going to the mountains regularly they are generally pointless.
There’s nothing stopping us from doing it. Those same idiots would revolt over the higher taxes Norway collects as well as putting away the oil money sales instead of spending it right away.
Basically, they make electricity with hydropower. They’re like 98% renewable.
Also helps to not have a domestic auto manufacturing industry to buy influence your politicians.
I too have a punitive government in my state jacking up the registration fees for EVs.
That’s what the fifth paragraph was all about. Also, what does population size have to do with it other than there probably would be enough supply for the US to do it yet? Getting 84% of a population to buy EVs is an impressive feat whether it’s 6 million or 350 million people.
Any of the discussions regarding Norway’s oil exports aside, part of the reason why so many individuals & companies in Norway are buying EVs is because the nation is incentivizing it’s population to actually do so. Buyers of EVs receive all sorts of registration & tax breaks, key of which include no purchase/import…
Well, good then. Anyone who’s against organized labor should be snubbed and left out of any government subsidies.
It’s funny, the White House invites the Big 3 to encourage them to get into EVs. Tesla’s not invited because they’re already KINDA into EVs.
