Yup. I teach just outside of downtown, and live just on the inside of the loop (so Houston Houston). My rent is the highest I’ve ever paid, but my commute is 30 mins on a bad day and if I moved somewhere cheaper I’d make up the difference with extra gas. Plus a longer commute, which would make me wanna die

Divorce rates are directly linked to length of commutes. A sobering thought.

I’d suggest taking a breath and considering whether in the short term they can ride it out (and finding something better to do with the hopefully large balance of that $100k budget than blow it on cars — especially at a moment in history when cars are brutally overpriced).

I found it very hard to justify driving around my 9-year-old shit box chevy sonic after I had a big step up in my career.

This is the only correct answer.

The dude writing in can afford $100,000 in auto loans. I’m fairly certain they can afford more than $400,000 for a house.

Honda Accord Touring and Honda Passport. Save the rest for a nice family vacation.

First, let’s be clear, he wants two cars, he may actually need one car. Second, sounds like his career is on track. Congratulations. Now is the time to decide if he wants to look rich or actually be rich at some point. Barring hitting the lottery, or some other windfall, you can typically have one, but not both. Save

FJ is a terrible idea for a family SUV.  Sitting in the back seat is like sitting in a cave.

Clearly he wants people to know he got a big promotion at work. I know every time I see a $60K SUV from a “prestige brand” I think “clearly that person or their spouse has ascended to the heights of their profession” and not “get your bloated soccer mom mobile out of my lane.”

All I read was $100K to blow on 2 cars at the worst possible time to buy 2 cars and already has reliable car

Man has adequate budget to purchase three or four family cars, even in today’s market. New Legacy, CX-5 or 9, and a Maverick and still would be under budget. Toss in a preowned Boxster for the lolz.

Lol!  The US Supreme Court gets to decide if a Constitutional Amendment was properly ratified.  Not you.  And it’s always been upheld.  Look it up!

Imagine how many jars of piss you could get!

Your statement perfectly sums up what’s wrong with the sovereign citizen movement. You think DUI checkpoints go against the 4th amendment. Law enforcement and state government disagree. The Supreme Court decides. That’s how it works according to the US constitution. When there is confusion or disagreement about what

Those sovereign idiots sued me 40 years ago and it has followed me around ever since. Even though the court dismissed it. I’ve saved the original paperwork since 1982 because every time I applied to a different state’s bar association I’ve had to show them the paperwork. Every time my security clearance came up

Most lawyers, if they have practiced long enough, can tell you stories about encountering these people. The common denominator is that they view the law as a sort of system of magic in which specific words and incantations are given enormous power. Logic, reason, and rationality have nothing to do with it. This is why

You may have noticed Keys referred to his car as his wagon, on wagon wheels.

Yeah like the fools who cry about the government sucking but love the US.

So these “sovereign” folks like to “travel” on public roads? Are they also the ones who don’t want to pay income taxes? If they don’t want to be part of the US of A, why not move somewhere else or start their own “sovereign nation”?
